View Full Version : Aion UK/EU Patch Error

I bought Aion cause it was 50% off and I wanted to give the game a whirl. Purchasing went fine and it started to download.

After a nice 9GB download, I open the game to find it wanting to install the launcher, that's fine too.

Opening up the launcher, I found it had installed the NA Aion, again that's fine, a quick properties change and it points to the EU one.

Well on my way I though, a quick verify and boot up, alas it was not to be, the game decided it wouldn't update from 1.5 to 1.9 and has now started to re-download the whole game.

This is a bit of a pain.

My advice to everyone is this. Download the launcher from the actual site and let that download the game, at very least you know it'll install the right one, fully patched.

I had the exact same issue and after an overnight download, is now downloading the whole damn thing again!

I'll just add my voice on all these threads. Steam put this game on special but the steam version can't be updated or their versioning is messed up. I also wasted 10GB+ only to redownload the entire thing again.

The future of digital distribution should not be as dumb as this.

Just some feedback i got my hands on the XML file from the Aion patcher.

The Steam version i got is 1.5.0.1 . Now as you can see below theres no upgrade path from 1.5.0.1 [hence it just downloads the entire game again]

If you change your version.ini file to say 1.5.0.0 , it will start updating from there . Might help somebody save some time. I'm also not sure if it should be 1.5.1.0 [and someone screwed up are incorrectly swopping then numbers]

ahhh if only you created this topic 1 day earlier you would have saved so much time, and I would already be playing instead of downloading the game for the second time.

I'd sticky this until Steam fixes their version.
