steam achievements wont relink after reinstall

I reinstalled cod mw2 steam lists my achievements, but mw2 is remaining reset to none. or is steam still a work in progress and im expecting to much, and have to start over.

Yeah steam achievements are very very shoddy. Don't even pay attention to them until they pull their thumbs out of their butts and put some more effort into the system.

Anyways I feel liberated after not striving for all the achievements on 360 after switching to PC gaming, ha. I felt like a darned achievement zombie.
