Can the reason be XP vs Vista/W7?

Again with the "connection to host timed out", three people i know including me have this game now and one of us are able to join multiplayer servers. I run W7 which is vista based and one uses "pure" Vista = connection to host timed out, third one uses XP and he's good to go. I'm just stating a theory so help me with some feed/backup.

I use windows 7 64bit and have no problems! Have opened ports up to be able to host a server too and works no problem. Without sounding condasending, Your ISP does allow for P2P traffic? if not or even if its restricted then maybe thats why you cant connect.

If none of the above then i suggest creating yourself a static IP (for your PC) and forwarding the game ports. try www.portforward.com to get you going.
