View Full Version : How is the online profile saved?

I noticed that after an afternoon of class leveling in multiplayer, the data in Documents/My Games/Transformers/ hasn't changed.

It seems like the game is built to assume there's already a character profile on a higher level, such as XBL or PSN. It isn't really steam aware, so we had to create a profile. I don't recall setting a password for this profile, so that's why I assume it's local.

Have you looked in the Program files in the Steam folder where the actual binary is?

Yeah, I did check Coalesced.ini in C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\transformers war for cybertron\TransGame\Config\PC\Cooked

It only has a modified date of the original installation

The MP data is stored online, I can confirm that, single player is local.

So then the question becomes: How would I recover the profile if lost a HDD or something?

I'm not sure how WFC "knows" that I own my profile.

I'm really skeptical about the multiplayer profiles... It just asks for a username, and not a password or email or anything. Is the username tied to our CD keys, or something? It would really suck to install the game a few months from now on another machine only to find that I can't access my online profile and would have to start over.

I think it is simply tight to your CD key, I installed the game on my desktop and then a day later on my notebook. I just signed into my account (it was even already there under accounts after I installed) and all my online stats were there. The SP stuff I had a harder time with because I didn't know they were tight to your user name and had to be edited to get to work on my other computer.
