only $10 is a really good deal, but before I buy this I am very concern on the multiplayer aspect. Here are some questions hopefully you guys are kind enough to answer.
1.) Hows the Community? Very Active?
2.) How long usually take for each game around? Also, is it a little similar with the console version one? (Civilization Revolution). Because I am so addicted the the console version, and it plays well on multiplayer aspect. I really hope is similar to the console version one which is a bit more fast pace I assume.
3.) Which one is more fun in multiplayer aspect? Colonization? or the original one?
Thanks any tips will be cool :)

I'm sorry, I haven't played online, but I have played multiplayer games with friends with 2 or 3 computers connected in a "LAN" network.
So, to respond to your questions:
(1) I know that the Civ 4 community is very active, but I am not sure how active the online multiplayer community is. You might get a more accurate idea of how active the online multiplayer community is by visiting the very active CivFanatics website:
http://www.civfanatics.com/
(2) You can choose different speeds for games, with different numbers of players, different map sizes, etc., so a short game could finish in 2 hours maybe? And you can play a long game for 24 hours or more.... Apparently the PC/Mac version of Civilization 4 is more complex than Civilization Revolutions. I prefer complexity in a game, myself, so I like it. :D
(3) I haven't played much Colonization. I didn't like it much, because I couldn't play as an Indigenous civilization, and the Indigenous civilizations were treated as inferior in terms of diplomacy in that game (the European player can enter their borders and attack them without the diplomatic consequences in the normal Civilization 4 games).
I much prefer Civilization 4 instead. It has many choices of game settings, and many mods that you can play if you want more variety. I've found multiplayer Civilization 4 quite fun. :D
