.

We've all been shooting at Hitler's Germany at some point of our first person shooter careers. We've shot them frontally, side ways and from behind. We've flanked them, stabbed them, fragged them, run them over and in some occasions even blew holes in them with AA artillery.

Well, you can do it again.

You should do it again.

In crappy graphics.

Obviously CoD was graphically advanced a couple of years back and the stubby animations would have made us happy in our pants in those lonely nerdy nights.

Things are different now, other games are smoother, they have realistic graphics , awesome animations and we've all got girlfriends and wives asking us to help them take out the laundry..

But CoD still remains awesome!

Our ordinary machines now chomp CoD away at max resolutions with stellar FPS. Grinding on a million Wehrmacht soldiers with our low polygon machine guns is not just fun, its funner than ever. (I call copyrights on funner)

The gameplay is still competing with today's war games and still managed to blow away most of today's blockbusters with hours of quality entertaining violence. Shooting distant enemies is relatively easy and using a sniper rifle will make you as lethal as rat poison in your breakfast.

You'll be playing as British, American and Russian troopers with specific objectives to complete. In several occasions you'll find yourself fighting along with other of your fellow soldiers. Their lives actually does depend on you. Therefore, unless you're really good at shooting, don't plan on making friends.

The enemies AI is not brilliant, nor challenging nor anything. They seem to enjoy bullets and are pretty keen on getting killed.

I'm not going to lie to you (although I could and probably will), If you're expecting strategy and hot naked babes sun bathing, you're not going to get them playing this game.

This version of CoD is as easy to play through as running away from really fat people, but you'll be enjoying every step of it.

As far as re-playability goes.. I doubt You'll be tempted to play this again..

The story line is interesting and well developed. You will not be complaing about the game being repetitive and you'll actually enjoy most of the levels you are thrown into. None of the objectives are frustrating nor impossibile to achieve.

Bottom line: You'll feel like a 1940s Rambo half way through the game.

In other words: Get it. (as long as it's cheap)

Crossing the river in COD with my Russkie comrades and waiting in line for the man in front to die so I can pick up his rifle, rates as one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

I downloaded it during the steam sale, and i'm disappointed that I have to wait so long to play as the Russians. I'll certainly be making a night of playing that section of the game as its amazing!

Was that COD or UO? But yeah, haha, I actually made a blog post about that level way back in the day and I still chuckle every time I read it.

Anyway, I'm downloading the games now after years since I've played it last. Can't wait for the nostalgia to kick in.

I think that the original Call of Duty is a hell of a lot better than the Modern Warfare series.

I find that WW2 games are a lot more epic than games based in modern combat, the scale is a lot bigger.

Call of Duty really shines in MP, at one point it was one of the most popular competitive games out. I remember they used to air multiplayer matches on one show on Techtv/G4 back in the day. Unless you played it in it's heyday, you can't understand how amazing this game is, especially with UO.

When you use the abbreviation of Frames Per Second as FPS you should include a number. Other wise it will refer to First Person Shooter. The game gave me good framerate when this game was launched. I could max it out pretty easily.

Definitely one of the best WWII FPS ever. The United Offensive expansion pack is probably the best expansion pack of any WWII series. MP in UO was legendary.

Find out when Call of Duty was developed and get back here.

Yeah, that makes it's crappy graphics better.

Stop being blinded by your internet ego and come ba.. no wait.

Stay right there and stfu.

Since I reviewed a game developed two centuries ago, it's obvious that for those who have never seen or heard of CoD and were interested in purchasing the game, knowing that the graphics suck for today's standard is important.

EDIT: I just re-read my review, I actually said what you said in my original post.

So Re-stfu.

Learn to read.

The first COD was awesome. I may hate the new COD games with a passion, but the first COD had a really fun single player campaign, as well as fun multiplayer. I have the expansion pack too, but I never really got around to beating it.:p

I'll have to go back to it one of these days.

"This version of CoD is as easy to play through as running away from really fat people"

On the hardest difficulty? Doubtful.

"As far as re-playability goes.. I doubt You'll be tempted to play this again.."

Wha?

"You'll feel like a 1940s Rambo half way through the game."

Never felt like that at all, actually. In fact, NOT feeling like Rambo was one the game's major positives. Really want to fee like 1940s Rambo? Try Allied Asssault and the expansion packs (games which I also love, but you're practically a terminator)

Such a review seems abundant to me, but fair enough, it isnt bad! A bit.. lacking, but all in all okay.

And indeed, such a good game.. I still miss those times when everyone werent MW2 junkies. :p

About feeling Rambo in MOHAA, how do you feel like Rambo? Yeah, you're alone alot of the time and on odd odds, but feels more secret than rambo :(
