Multiplayer only vs bots?

Damn i would like to get this game but i am not sure about online play, all movies i saw looks like people are playing against bots and not real players
Any1 can explain how the multi works in that game

there is everything in ArmA, as long as someone is able to script it :)

for example coop against bots, capture&hold against real players, virtual-war tournaments with up to 100 players at once, etc. ....

Due to the specific form of Arma2, a player+bot vs a player+bot team gameplay mode is way more popular (dating back to the original Operation Flashpoint), which is also known as CTI mode. In that case, yes, battles range to large armor+infintary and rarely airforces encounters are possible. Versus modes tend to be less popular, but there are secnarios that are only player vs player, be it infintary only or infintary+vechicles (reminscent of the original Battlefield games, only more realistic).

As it was already mentioned here, ArmA2 biggest advances is that pretty much everything is possible provided someone scripts it - there is even a "RPG" mode where you play a civilan vs cops scenario ;)

However, from my own expiriences, I'd say that the NPC+player modes are way more prominent and fun, ArmA2 tends to focus a lot on squad tactics and larger scale battles, which tend not to be possible without a good share of stupidity from players, hence the prminent NPCs (The mentioned CTI mode is usually two teams of 8/16 players, each one can command up to 11 NPCs, be it tanks (3 NPCs each), infintary or any other mixes).

I have played games with more than 150 players, no bots/AI/NPCs/etc.

ARMA 2 / ARMA : OA is poosble to play in

SinglePlayer mode (Player vs AI)
COOPerative mode (Players vs AI)
COOPerative PvP mode ([{Players + AI} vs {Players + AI}] vs AI)
PvP mode (players vs players) w/o any AI

in short w/e mission designers scripts You can then play, limit is imagination

Arma, Arma 2, Arma OA all consist of the same MP, CTF, DM, TDM, OBJ's, Human V Human, Human V AI, To be honest there is more on line playability with this game than there is with COD and BFBC2 combined.

The only issue is, is that the AI Lags making it hard to take out targets, Sniper V Sniper is awesome too.
