Just wanted to say that the latest patch has made major improvements to gameplay and fps on my i7 machine. Getting a near solid 60+fps on med-hi. Using the 360 controller seems smoother than before too. Thanks for the continued support..

Specs
Dell xps435mt
i7 920
12gb corsair tri channel ddr3
Sapphire Vapor x 5770
360 wireless pad for pc

I agree. I am running an AMD 3.1 GHz X4 and have a Radeon HD 5870, 2 Gigs of RAM. Since the last patch I am getting an average 37 FPS with everything maxed out. Operation Arrowhead runs even smoother than this. Sure it took them a year, but the game is finally truly stable for the most part.

THANK YOU!!! I said the same thing in another post that with the recent patches, the game runs much smoother that you can actually run the game on very high settings and it’s playable. Unfortunately, I got flamed by so many people for saying that. Ridiculous isn't it. Guess they were upset because they couldn’t? Glad to see others with similar setup’s can run everything on very high settings too. I am not alone and this just supports my argument that with newer hardware, you can run the game on higher settings and not take a big hit.

People have to buy ARMA patches? They don't get them for free? What kind of scam is this.

This is relevant to my interests. It was the terrifying stories of bugs galore, that kept me from buying the game last year. So it is playable now?

It was always playable.. it is just a lot more optimised now to run better on most systems.

i'm confused. I've read about major bugs of painstaking magnitude from numerous sources... well, that was 2009...

So... what's the game like?

Some people had problems with not being able to complete the campaign.. and a lot of others with the game not running very well on their machines. Both have been sorted now.

The game itself is brilliant, endless possibilities and can provide a ton of fun, especially if you have a bunch of friends to play with. If not, you can always join a clan and play with them. If you like mission editing/scripting, it's all there and easy to use as well.

Nah, just a regular player, who's looking for something that might replicate his old BF2 PPRM experiences.

Great. the matches are long, the battles are great. and most of all its INTRESTING... its not always full of action and ♥♥♥♥ that keeps the attention of ADHD children. its planning, upgrading, and then.. when ur finally there hiding behind the blown up tank waiting for backup as heavy caliber machineguns try to mow you down... you know you bought a good game...

If only I didn't feel like I have to spend the next month practicing every movement and learning every possible way and mean of communication and STILL not be able to play good enough to not be kicked for being a noob.

I reckon this game to be a dozen stages above BF2 PR...

I don't understand which movement controls you are finding difficult to comprehend.. there is the standard WASD for movenemt.. Q/E to lean.. ZXC for stances.. Shift to walk.. The mouse to move your gun around.. Holding alt and moving the mouse to move your head.. and that's about it.

there is already beta build 71900 ...

rather the build pushed through steam, to bring it in line with the patch offered on the main site. Really just to solve some weird script compatibility problem with mp mission with servers running that build, which is everyone but people with steam.
or should i really just use the beta patch?
