For all you people wondering, and to the ones rabidly denying it.

Hmm yes I did hear about Cities XL being taken over by another developer to contuine it.

After the shambles which Monte Cristo made of it - I hope this new team learn from MCs mistakes!

Hopefully this one ends up being good. I still have SimCity 4 and 3000 installed on my current computer, I should have something modern that's just as fun, but EA seems to have abandoned proper SimCity and no one else wants to copy.
If your going to be disrespectful than don't post. Enjoy your report.
What exactly do you think you were doing with your first post here, then?

Posting definitive proof that there is a new cities coming. There's two distinct groups of people I was adressing. The ones who care, and the ones rabidly denying it. There's nothing insulting there, it's a simple statement. Don't go LOOKING for problems that aren't there friend.

Cities XL 2011 should be an update for the original game, not a new standalone, I feel ripped off.
Let's hope the new game is better in some areas at least. I expect it to be patched thru steam, and no site registration and login every time you run it. Among other things...

Engine improved for multiple-cpus, NO MEMORY LEAKS, larger day/night cycle, less night darkness, and more stuff.

I saw trains on the new Cities XL screenshots, that's good. Also they say it will have subway, cool too.

When it comes up I will wait for people to post their first impressions, prior to buying it.

I would still like CitiesXL despite its many MANY flaws if it wasnt for that memory leak... nothing kills a gaming experience like having to restart the game every 15 minutes.

I dont care what else they do, but make sure it isnt as bad with memory as this game.

No chance I'll buy this game again.

Get ripped off buying a POS game that never works right the first time, shame on the developer.

Buying the game again 1 year later from a new developer with "hopes" they fixed everything that should have worked in the first place, shame on you!!

I'm glad for the title they are going to try to fix it, but unless existing users get a working version of this game gratis they can stick it where the sun don't shine.

When it comes out, wait for those who will definitely buy it to buy it, check what they say .. I'm sure they will have fixed the memory leak and other issues, as they are so prominent!
