I always missed out on trying out this game on the free weekends. . .

Is it any good?

A have a lot of FPS gamers on my steam friends list and only 2 of them have even played the game (one for 10 minutes and the other for just short of an hour)

The other obvious question is that does anyone still play it or is it down to just 2 or 3 active servers?

Yep, I recommend it.

Which aspects of FPS gaming do you like? If it's "using tactics", you cannot go wrong with DoD:S.

A lot of people still play it. You will definitely not run out of servers to choose from.

For $2.49 how can you go wrong?
A cup of coffee costs more ;)

I love this game. Sure it may not have as many servers as CS:S or TF2, but it still has plenty of players.

Well sounds good! ;)

I actually liked the original DoD a lot, but never upgraded. . .
I guess I'm the type of guy you could say who only bought one version of the Battlefield series (Vietnam)

But like Rosie says I probably can't go wrong for price

rosie's definitely right, can't go wrong for the price, and while there aren't as many servers as css, there's still a few hundred to choose from. definitely a good pick

Well Steam stats says the peak players for today is 4,111 so that's not that bad considering the other fps games out. I too never upgraded from the original when DOD source came out and I'm really glad I picked it up for $2.50.

that's probably world wide though, i dunno about you but i don't like playing with 200 ping, so i stick to my own continent where there are only a few hundred ;)

chocoladeletter, I'm sorry that you feel unhappy about seeing almost everyone disagree with you in your thread:

I recommend looking for games in the 'Casual' or 'Family Games' categories to increase your chances of finding your perfect game :)

E.g. Puzzle Kingdoms - 95% off!

I do not recommend this game to anyone.

It's noones' fault but your own that you're too lazy or impatient to learn the game before giving up.

DoD has been around for over ten years.
The isn't a console game.
