I recently bought Red Faction Guerrilla on Steam from the sale and i have yet to play it even though steam says '2 hours played'. More like 2 hours waiting for the menus to go by and the intro cutscene to slideshow by. I am getting 2 second lag during the menus and horrible lag that makes the cutscenes take forever and eventually i get a 'send/don't send' error and ctd. I know my computer doesn't meet the requirements but that hasn't stopped me from playing bfbc2, crysis, etc before without major errors like this.

windows xp sp3
gts 250 low profile (latest driver)
3gb ddr2 ram
plenty of hd space
AVG resident shield disabled, windows firewall turned off, and i also tryed exiting daemon tools which did nothing (some games have problems with it - bf2142). I have read about another person with a ctd during the 'parker' video but their thread never got a response. Thanks in advance for any help :)
edit: I haven't gone through the process to patch it though as i already have the patch as far as i can tell since i have the v-sync option in game. If all else fails maybe i will try it.
