Hi, I hope I won't get lynched for posting yet another crash thread, but here goes:

I've been trying to reach the Galaxy News radio station for a few days now, tried everything, but when I get close to the square in front of the station the game crashes. I've tried setting the threading in the .ini, I've tweaked all sorts of graphics options including the windowed mode, I've disabled fddshow... But to no avail.

Has anyone experienced this problem in connection with the Galaxy News station? I've played Fallout 3 for about 15 hours before this happened, and it rarely crashed, although I did have trouble getting it to run on Win 7 in the first place.

I would try to verify the integrity of the game cach via steam

If that does not work I would backup the game, and saved games, delete fallout 3, restore fallout 3 via the backup, and restore saved games.

Backup at your own risk though ... I have heard storys of backups being corrupt and games having to be redownloaded.

In my experiance of over 35 game backups and restores .. it has always worked for me.

Cheers!

Ypu might even try to back step a few saved games and re play it, tos ee if it fixes your issue. It could be just a random corrupted event that happend along your travels, who knows : / .... Sorry I could not be more helpful

Ive had to do this several times in my games. This game taught me not to save over old games. Had over 200 saves at the end.
Try saving the game, Load from a old point, Then run strait there. If you can get in, your save got a bug. It can stink losing 5+ hours. but it can be needed.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll try to verify the integrity via steam, didn't know it was possible!

Just right click on fallout 3 - properties - local files tab - and click on "verify integrity of game cache"
