Metro 2033 starts but crashes with an error!

I bought the THQ pack from steam and recently downloaded Metro 2033.

The problem is when I start the game, it nearly crashed my computer with an error message saying:

Metro2033.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Error report contains:
Metro2033.exe Error signature

AppName: metro2033.exe
AppVer: 1.0.0.1
ModName: metro2033.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.1
Offset: 003a6e93

I have verified integrity of the game and nothing wrong there.

I have also had a look through the folder where it is installed
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\metro 2033
and looks ok there too.

Any clues? :confused:

i have the same problem, as do a lot of other people.
My game crashes after the title screen, i press any key, get to the desk, when i try to change the settings it will crash after a few seconds, sometimes i can get to the prologue loading screen but it always crashes at that..really frustrating.

the x1650 is WAY below the min requirements which is an 8800gt.

Funny works with APB - All Points Bulletin that has the same min requirements but true was needing to buy a new graphics card.

APB says 7800 for a minimum which is no where near the 8800gt that is the min fro Metro 2033. a 1650 is about on par with a 7600gt so its still quite a bit slower than a 7800. a 1650 has only about 1/4 the power of the 8800gt though.

"this program can`t start because PhysXLoader.dII is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

Tried to reinstall but I get the same message. Never encountered such issues on steam. Looks like I need that file, but funny Steam does not have that "bug" covered if im missing a file.

Works surprisingly very well even with my crappy graphics card too lol

Game graphics best I have played for pc and away to play more metro now :D
