Trust me when I say we've been thinking of what to do about AAC files for a while. If only everything could be free and easy like Ogg or Flac :( .

We certainly want to support the files if we can figure out how. I've currently been looking into using Quicktime to decode files like Audiosurf does, but I have yet to get past the stage of just downloading the Quicktime SDK  It says it comes with documentation, which it actually doesn't, so it has already been a headache

As far as different languages, the demo version actually won't let you play files with unicode characters in it. This is something we did in an update after the game came out, and we never added it to the demo. In the full version you can actually load and play songs with unicode characters in them, although currently any foreign characters still draw as ?'s. Everything behind the scenes is stored correctly (scrobble to Last.fm with a foreign song if you have an account to see), but we haven't put in a system for drawing them.

If by "suppor AAC" you mean "lets you download AAC support for more money," then, correct!

I'd be more than willing to pay a dollar or two extra to get AAC support for this game; it's quite good, and I'd love to play more of my library without converting my file formats.

Agreed, AAC support is worth the extra dollar. Just make it DLC like Beat Hazard did.

Agreed. I love games that use your custom music to influence gameplay. I would definitely download a DLC for $1 for support for my AAC music collection just as I did for beat hazard! There's other ways to do it too I believe, Audiosurf did it and it's not a DLC, but maybe they included it in the price of the game to begin with I'm not sure.

dont listen to this person, only spams all forums promoting Beat Hazard (which isnt a bad game, but theres no need to be so childish as amy)

When you guys say AAC, what files do you mean exactly? Would .m4a files suffice?

I liked the demo, but will hold off until AAC is supported, and I can play most of my library.

I hope the dev reads this :( These games just aren't the same when they don't support a monster house format like AAC. I would just convert everything to OGG but it's all ripped in iTunes. Sad I know... I'm so lazy.

I should make it clear that by 'monster house format' I mean by shear volume of users, not that it's the best lossy codec. Like I said, I'd convert all to OGG but I'm lazy and iTunes is just so easy.

If it's a money issue, like Beat Hazard, I would gladly buy the DLC required to play AAC files. A huge part of my music library is in that format.

We still are working to figure out a solution where we can support the files without having to buy a license.

Currently I am working on something else though; Something more important to the game that I think you guys are going to like. :)
