Ok here's what I have open (based on AA)

Deploy Client TCP/IP Outgoing 80, 8080, 7305
Authentication TCP/IP Outgoing 8338
Attribute Tracking System TCP/IP Outgoing 3030

Statistics Tracking System TCP/IP Outgoing 5050, 5051
MBS TCP/IP Outgoing 3040
MBS-Browser UDP Incoming 39300 through 39320
Game Server TCP/IP Outgoing 8777

WHICH PORTS DO I NEED TO OPEN ON MY ROUTER FOR STEAM?
Answer:
Your network must be configured to allow Steam access to the following ports (in order from highest to lowest priority for QoS users):
Steam Client:
•UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive (Game client traffic)
•UDP 27015 to 27030 inclusive (Typically Matchmaking and HLTV)
•TCP 27020 to 27050 inclusive (Steam downloads)

Dedicated or Listen Servers:
•TCP 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)

Hopefully will get the game working, will let you know.

Please feel free to add info if you have over come problems connecting to games.

I have tried disabling firewall etc no joy, definitely something screwy going on, I can host a game but I can't join one without being disconned after 15-30 seconds. Last time was l4d2 and it was a port issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks for the reply!

But please do tell, why is so difficult to simply list the ports the game requires? From that base of information, we can then move forward.

Any other game would release the information as a matter of course.

If you go to "Create Game" and click "Server Ports" it tells you which ports need to be open in your firewall/router: 9777 UDP and TCP, 8766 UDP, 27016 UDP. You can also test the config from there.
