I bought RFG during the sale, I installed it and played it. Today, I tried playing it only to have steam tell me I don't own it.
I've since opened a support ticket over the issue, but I still feel like I should express my displeasure here.
Thanks, steam. Thank you for taking ownership of the game away from me for no reason and with no warning. I hope the ticket resolves the issue, but if not expect a charge back from me.

Cut them some slack, they are having server problems and a ton of things are going wrong. You will be able to get your game back, and Steam did not intentionally take your game away from you.
Bugs happen, especially with everything that Steam deals with and that massive amount of users and data that move through it every second of every day.
On a side note, you wont get a refund, even if you press them. It is outlined in the sale policy that they do not offer refunds for downloaded games unless they are pre-orders and made before the game is released.

No, I'm sorry. I can accept a lot of things but having ownership actually removed from my account is not something that I can "cut them some slack" with.
I'm not going to ask them for a refund if they won't give me back the game, I'll simply do a charge back. Like I said though, if its resolved we will have no issues.
Having ownership removed from a account with no notice or warning is in a entirely different league then simple server issues.

It is no different than if someone starts up their game and it won't run. Corrupted game files, strange error reports, etc. For some reason or another, a bug has occurred that prevents the user from playing their game they paid money for.
The bug that has happened to you has something to do with the ownership files in the Steam database. If you have the proof that you bought it, you won't have any problems. You have an error, and Steam will help and fix errors.
My point is that your error is no different from others, it is just more unique sounding. No person revoked your ownership or decided to take the game away from you. Getting mad at them on a personal level makes no sense.

How do you know this? It's not like you have access to my account information, so you would have no idea if this is the case or not.

Because in this case, you would receive information from Steam as to why it was revoked. You said you received no reasons from them.
