The problem is that starting the game and the screen goes black, i have this same problem with some "old game" as the Commandos, the Abe's Odysee ...
Until recently I had Windows XP and worked well, what surprises me is that on the website of the store makes it compatible with Windows 7.
My current system is:
S.O: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400 +
Graphics card: Ati Radeon HD 2900 XT (Catalyst 10.6)
Memory: 4GB Kingston 800mhz DDR Ram
-----------------------------------------------------------------
S.O: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Placa base: Gigabyte MA790FX -DQ6
Procesador: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+
Tarjeta gráfica :Ati Radeon HD 2900 XT (Catalyst 10.6)
Memoria: 4GB Ram DDR 800mhz Kingston

Have you checked in the task manager when this happens to see if the game is still running? It runs fine for me on Win7 64. Nothing wrong with your rig either that I can see.
Start with the usuals:
Verifing the game cache
Check to see that DEP, your Antivitus, or firewall isn't blocking the games exe from running. If so, grant exceptions for it.
Insure DX9 is installed. I know Win7 uses 10/11 but you still need DX9 for older games to run.

If, in the "task manager" the game is running, is more, I hear the sound of the game and I can not "move" on their menus.
The DEP is configured only for Windows programs and services.
The antivirus is Avast! 5 Inactivated and I have not solved anything.
Using the "dxwebsetup" tells me this date at the top, not if you mean this ...
Trying things I've discovered that if I disconnect and connect the monitor, if I see the game, it's like to send him to another screen, but the only catalyst I get a screen.
By the way I am using 1920x1200 resolution, not whether this will have something to do.
------------------------------------------------------------
5 y desactivandolo tampoco he solucionado nada.

When you run in windowed mode if I work, is more games that give me this problem, I managed to get me work in windowed mode.
How far this can occur? I suppose they are problems with the resolutions, but no idea how to fix ...
---------------------------------------------------------------
