Only steam game I have that doesn't work, CSS/TF2 work perfectly.

I'm having the same error... Maybe it's something related to XP 64?
Anyway, my specs are
AMD 64 x2 2.4Ghz
GeForce 8600gt 512mb
2gb RAM 800mhz

It looks like the game wont start on XP 64 at all, the same issue has been reported in this thread http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1349832

I was having that problem yesterday... just kept hitting Cancel, then try to bring it up again. Sometimes it 3 or 4 tries, but would always get there...
