Quick question about coop

There's one thing I'd really like to know about this game before I get it, specifically whether or not it supports online coop. Steam tends to have a pretty nasty habit of being vague when it comes to coop support. I recently bought Shadowgrounds survivor hoping I had found a decent top down shooter I could play with a few friends online. Imagine my surprise when of all things, the only form of coop it actually supported was split screen (and on a PC too! Madness!). I had a similar experience with two other games as well. Alien Breed supported online coop but only for a couple of missions.

So I guess what I'm asking is whether or not it's clear that Alien Swarm will support online multiplayer, and if it does will it allow me and my friends to play through the single player campaign together?

Swarm is first and foremost a co-op game. It's meant to be played online with friends.

So yes. :)
