Anyways, I'm thinking it's probably the more appropriate meaning of Hat Trick of doing three positive things.

From the image, I'm guessing save your teammate from a headhumper three times in a single game.

The tf2 community will complain about anything. Hats didn't suddenly cause the whole community to turn from upstanding young gentlemannes to heathens. They were already all heathens :P

Besides I love my hats :3

I tend to rage about the updates in general. I lose performance with every update, and the game gets further and further away from what it was when I bought it at release. You know, back when TF2 was super balanced and the classes countered each other...

The TF2 sub-forum is an abortion in message board form. That said I wouldn't be surprised if the "Hat Trick" achievement was just something created with the intention of messing with the TF2 community.
