Low framerate with enemies onscreen

I have updated to 1.3 and am having terrible framerates for what my rig is capable of. In combat was getting around 7 fps, so I updated my driver for the graphics card and it went up to about 17 fps which is an improvement but it should be running this low. I tried lowering all the settings and the resolution but the fps is still bad. Even on the lowest resolution with all settings on the lowest I only get about a 1-2 fps improvement. I am also playing on co-op with a friend if that matters at all.

My specs are: windows 7 64bit, Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz, 2gb ram, and GeForce 9800 GT.

I got the same problem with the game. I tried all settings. The lowest uo to the highest, but nothing helped.
