View Full Version : Steam downloading "Trial" AND "Release" of the game.

I've never installed the trial of global agenda. Only bought and played the release. But for some reason its downloading the trial.... I stopped/paused the main global agenda download and the icon at the bottom of my windows bar shows it downloading the trial.
I checked the "downloads" in steam and it only shows the main game on pause and the details of download show 1 downloads in progress and 1 paused.
How can I stop steam downloading the trial when it doesn't show up in the games library or the downloads?

Bah doesn't matter... I just removed local files of the global agenda because I don't play it any more and it removed both trial and release at the same time.
Thanks for reading anyhow.

Yeah i understand why you uninstalled the game now, this is p*****g me off now.
What the fk is the trial download about, and why the hell wont it pause.
Maybe some reason as to why, but i have the full game through steam, patched to 1.3, yet it still feals the need to download the trial aswell as 1.3b or whatever it is now. wtf is going on.
Its basiclly slow as fk with 2 GA's downloading simultaneously.
Any ideas ?? this cant be normal. it doeas this everytime they do a major patch. :|
Note: I just paused all Downloads, then just resumed the only GA download in the list, the main game. now i dont see any trial download in the notification tray.
even so, its still hella slow.
Mind you in the time its taken me to edi this msg, its done 5% woo lol

As far as I can tell it is a glitch in Steam that causes an error in reporting.
The client for the trial is the full client so even though Steam is only downloading one thing it says it is downloading both; because the trial and the full version are the same install. That is why when you uninstalled the trial, it uninstalled the full game.
Steam does this for any game that you download the full game and then unlock I believe. Same situation for Champions Online.

So does anyone know a fix for this? I'm having to redownload the game again for the 2nd time because of this annoying bug.
