Every time I get AI it either Rebels the same turn or within 5 turns. Am I unlucky or is it supposed to.

Sort of. If you get unlucky and don't get any of the techs that allow you to suppress or enslave AI, then yes, it is merely a matter of time. However, usually once you research AI and one of the three options afterwards (the industry, fire command section and economic upgrades, any one of them) you SHOULD (and you are at mercy of the random tech tree here) get some options to at least ensure when your AI rebels, you can 'kill' it so that no AI faction appears, you just lose the bonuses, if and when it rebels.

lol, I see your having the fun of AI rebelling against you. I been playing this game for years And I will tell you most of my games Id be disappointed for the ai not to rebel..

AI is a big gamble but has good rewards. Most people don't risk it unless they're in a losing scenario where it can help turn the tables.

The amount of research that can be done before a rebellion occurs seems to be predetermined at the start of each game to prevent players from loading a previous save and trying over and over to get it. Rebellion chances also increase if you engage in combat while researching it. It can also happen if you have AI and encounter another player's rebel AI.
