Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm having a problem getting Telekinesis to work..it simply does nothing. The spell will trigger with the sound and lights around me but no disarming traps or opening doors, etc. Only mod I'm using is MGE but it didn't work previous to that. Is it just me or is this a known issue? I might try d/ling that patch fix project, but yeah please if anyone can help I'd appreciate it...I really need it for some quests. :(

Post the spell you're using, maybe it has a really short range. Magnitude dertimines range on that spell.

He did post the spell. Telekinesis is one of the spells you can learn in Morrowind.

@ImDonKnotts
I wish I could help, but I never bothered with that spell.

Not all spells are the same. Not to mention, you can create your own spells - maybe he made a really crappy telekinesis spell.

I'm using a 25ft mag and 3 second duration version. Ill try making a stronger one and see if that works. Oddly enough using a potion of telekinesis works. Thanks for the replies. :)

yeah, if i recall correctly each point of mag is like a third of a foot, so you need something like 70 mag for a long reach. and duration doesnt matter, since activating stuff doesnt take time

Hi ImDonKnotts

I used to play Morrowind a lot quite a few years ago, although am just picking it up again so will do my best to advise you on telekinesis.

I totally agree with "oh no a spy" - from what I can remember, the magnitude affects the distance at which the spell works. Not too sure if it also affects the weight of the thing you can lift as well (obviously, in this case, an amulet would be easier to grab than a barrel at a set distance) - is annoying because I used to use this spell a lot.

Let me know what you find out, am curious to see how this works.

Morrowind has no physics engine to handle actually picking up objects (a la Oblivion), so Telekinesis is essentially just extending your normal use-key distance, allowing you to activate things from further away.

From UESPWiki, although I think a Morrowind foot is shorter than you would expect in-game:
"Telekinesis M feet for D seconds.

Causes you to be able to manipulate objects from a distance. You can open containers and interior doors, pick up objects, or operate switches from far away. The magnitude determines that maximum distance from which you can interact with objects."

Thanks to all who replied. I figured out that I was simply not realizing that it extends your "use" range. I was expecting a door to automatically open when I cast the spell for example and not paying attention to the widening range of the use caption that pops up. Oopsie! :p I got it all squared away now. Again, thanks for the replies. :)
