Hello everyone!
I haven't touched hammer in the better part of a year, but due to Alien Swarm's openness to modding, I decided to make a map for Alien Swarm. So, beginning 1 day ago (from the date of this post) I started working on Frozen Onslaught. FO is an outdoors survival map. Why outdoors? Well, simply put, because I hadn't used a BSP editor in so long. I needed something to ease me back into brush work.
Synopsis:
You and three other marines are tasked with collecting research data from a facility on A3X702. Problem is, upon downloading the data an alarm will sound. You my survive for as long as possible from a never-ending assault of aliens!
Performance:
The map performs fairly well. I tested it against the biomass level of the official campaign (which virtually everyone has fps issues on), and am glad to say that Frozen Onslaught gets significantly better fps than it. The only problem I saw was when grenades and such with lots of particle effects were used. But that happens on most levels anyhow.
Known-bugs:
-Sometimes the message telling you to use the computer to collect data will not show. So, just as an FYI, the computer right next to spawn sounds an alarm that causes the aliens to come. They will not spawn otherwise.
-While not technically a bug, the map is really hard. This will probably be toned down in a2, but as of this moment I suggest getting at least a second person to play with you. If only to cover your back.

(Note - In the last screenshot you'll see that I placed 4 flashlights. During testing almost everyone said the map was a bit too dark, so I while I did brighten it up, I placed flashlights just in-case).
