View Full Version : Screen tearing makes game unplayable

I'm having a lot of problems with screen tearing in this game. I found some other people having problems with it but not the same as my problem or no solutions.

-It happens everywhere from the starting logo's to the menu to ingame.
-When I'm in the graphic options, I see terrible screen tearing. But then when I change the resolution and accept the changes, the screen tearing goes completely away. It then stays away in the menu. But when I join a game/practise, it starts again. During a game/practise I can't change graphic options in the menu to test if that would resolve screen tearing ingame.
-Also when I'm in the menu I see the screen tearing. Then I alt+tab out of the game and back in. Now I have no screen tearing in the menu. This trick however does not work when I'm in a game/practise. Alt+tabbing only works for the menu.

So does anyone recognise these things and have a solution? Perhaps a way to enable vsync has allready been integrated (first 3D game ever I see that doesn't have vsync ingame or by setting file)?

I tried the game for a bit and seems unique and fun, but the screen tearing is making my eyes hurt. It's just too much.

Same here. I was kind of excited about this game but held off on buying it. Now I'm glad I didn't.

Same problem here, looks like an issue with the 5xxx hd series cards :/

So force vsync in CCC. I'm not having any problems on my 5870.

Play in windowed mode. Works for me.

Forcing vsync in CCC didn't help.

Windowed mode solved the problem. But you have to edit a config file of the game as described here:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14097255&postcount=4

The file path is just a little bit different now:
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\LAG\data\sett ings\renderer_settings.xml

+Rep for you Erakko. :)

I have a different problem. It appears as if your running speed is directly tied to your fps or something. I'm not sure what kind of fps I get (any way to let the game show it?).

It happens quite often, that while I'm running there are noticable slowdowns in my running speed - and only there for some reason - I can still look around fine at that moment, I just don't run as fast anymore. Usually just goes on for a second. Doesn't seem to be lag as there is no warping and also no stuttering as the view is still smooth. I'm confused. Anyone else experienced something like that?

Have you tried forcing VSync and Tripple Buffering through D3DOverrider?

This is an app no PC gamer should have to live without.

Great. Solution of Erakko/Fusselkator works perfectly.

I just hope it'll also start working for fullscreen in the future. But game will be bought none the less.

Download program called Fraps. That'll show fps in every game(just start the program and run the game). Try it and see if you get any wiser with your problem.
