Where the hell is the content? (models/particles/decals)?

Hey everyone.

Unlike other source games, alien swarm content is not held in a game cache file (.gcf) in the steam apps folder.

Since this was promoted as open source, I figured they would just be in the standard game directory.

They're not there either.

So, where are the specific alien swarm models, sounds, etc located?

Alien Swarm (Tool mode) shows the models... Not sure where it's listed.

Seems to me that since it's free, they don't have any obligation to give you any more freebies other than the hammer editor and the sdk...

No models, terrains, etc.?

It was actually located in a .vpk file in the swarm base, opened with gcfscape
