The title says it all. I recently got new parts for my computer. Upgraded the CPU, ram, etc. and it runs worse. It starts off perfectly then slows to a crawl of which is virtually unplayable. I've installed the latest nvidia driver as well. Help would be appreciated.

how long does it take until it starts to slow down? there are some settings you can tweak in the .ini file that prevents the game from storing so much unnecessary data. i don't remember off the top of my head, but it's worth looking into.

Is it anything like this at all?

Games using the Gamebryo engine are all at risk for some form of the glitch i believe.

Yup, it's a glitch in the engine itself. My system plays the game smoothly for a couple hours, then everything slows down to an almost unplayable state. I really hope they fix this problem for New Vegas.
If I remember correctly, when Oblivion came out Bethesda tried to blame the slowdown issues on "memory leaks". ;)

There was a unload cell mod that should work for this. The game takes up more memory as you play and can cause stuttering.
