How do you dumb a car into the sea?

I'm currently doing a sidequest given by Lucas. Basically, I have to take a car to the cliffs and dumb it into the sea. I haven't figured out a way to get out of the car without stopping the engine. How am I supposed to complete this quest?
Edit: I'm gonna try pushing it off the cliff with a different car

It's been years since I've played Mafia, but if I remember correctly, you will need to put the car into neutral and use another car to push it off the cliff.

Hold handbrake, shift into neutral, start it rolling and hop out..

OR, what I did..

drive as fast as you can down the long dirt road at the end, get out of the car right at the edge.. If you did it right, the cop that was following you will fly into the water along with the car :-)

that is what i did and it did work just make shere you do not go to fast or you new car will go in there as well!

Make sure you hit it hard enough or else it will just get stuck on the side of the cliff....

I've had this happen and it will piss you off really bad.

Jump out at high speed just before you hit the edge. If you are a little late you can grab the edge and press space bar really quickly and pull yourself up.
