Hi,
since the latest Update to 258.96_desktop_win7_winvista_32bit_international_w hql (GeForce GTX470) MW2 is crashing nearly every second loaded Map/Game. :o
Anyone knows something about a upcoming Patch of MW2? Seems to be the only actual Shooter that has these Problems. :o

I suggest that you investigate what is happening on your system. The first stop will be the 'Event Viewer'.
Can you play other (graphic intense) games?
You can always uninstall your drivers and install the previous ones - I usually keep a number of old driver downloads on my PC in a folder. If you've not done similar it's possible to download them from the Nvidia site.

My System is absolutely fine.
ArmaII, Crysis, Just Cause 2 - everything works perfect on highest Settings at 1920x1080.
The Eventviewer shows nothing about IWMP4 Process or anything else that has something to do with MW2. No DirectX Error nothing. Just a crash of Game sporadic at 20% to 80% at loading the Maps or switching from loading the Map to start playing.
BTW - i am a IT Professional at a large Softwarecompany you should know. So trust me - my Client/Win7 is ok. ;)
I'm also getting BSOD's with this driver installed. Haven't tried other games though, since this is a new PC and I don't have any installed.

BSOD's ? The last BSOD i have seen was under WinXP before SP1 was released. Check your Hardware. This Thread is about crashing the Game - not a crashing PC.

Then I guess you will be able to work out what is going wrong then.
The drivers are working fine on my system with a pair of GTX295s in SLI.

The GTX 470 is a direct x 11 card, they do clearly state that it is not fully backwards compatable, and if you read other forums you are just one of many that has a direct x 11 card and is having problems.

I was having problems with these drivers originally too, check to make sure you only have one version of PhysX installed (check add/remove software in control panel). I had to scrub the old drivers out of my system (including physX since the new drivers didn't uninstall the old ones). Try downloading Driver Sweeper from Guru3D, uninstall the physX drivers first, then the graphics, reboot to safe mode, let it do its thing with finding the drivers and then run Driver Sweeper. After you reboot to Windows again it should be safe to install the drivers. This is the first set since XP that I really had to clean off my system.

Your computer wouldn't happen to have hyper-threading would it? My core i7-860 pc has had many issues with updates to my gtx 465. I have a friend with a a non HT i7 and he get updates fine on his comp. It seems that HT processors have more issues with updates to nvidia cards.

Hmm...I have i7 Quad core that has HT and I am having issues with some maps with...I don't know tbh, 'graphic lag' and I have tried everything including older graphics drivers but no luck. Almost all the Resurgence maps I have this problem on and a few original maps and some only occasionally.
But I have an ATI graphics card not Nvidia.

guess that means HT hates graphics cards in general, but we'll have to wait and see if thats the OP's problem

i'm not liking these drivers either. internet explorer of all things crashes often, especially watching videos on youtube and other sites. it gives me a message that the drivers restarted but sometimes the system just hangs. running win7 x64 bit and it has been a flawless os so far. i haven't formatted in almost a year and im pretty much due, used to format every 6 months or so with vista just to keep everything fresh
