Does anyone know how to load the map editor in D2?

When you click play you are offered a choice between configuration or or play game but I can't see any way to open the editor. If I browse to the steamapps folder and run scenedit.exe I get an error "missing steam.dll". I've even tried using the Application ID, 1634, according to the Valve Software wiki (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Steam_Application_IDs) but with no luck.

Has anyone been able to get it working?

did you try the tool section in your steam client ?

No, I haven't. I'll give that a try this afternoon and report back.

Yup, it's in the tools section. I always forget about that.

However, when I launch it I just get a white screen and eventually a not responding error...

Might be a combatiliby issue. Try to change the settings of .exe file and run it as administrator.

Hi,

For Gallean's return Map Editor, use a windows shortcut :
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 1645 -dev -console
For the directory
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<YOUR PROFILE>\disciples ii galleans return"

1645 is the app number of Map editor (seen on the regedit) and not 1644 : there's certainly an error in the "Steam Application IDs - Valve Developer Community" document.

it's certainly the same for Map editor of Rise of Elves (test with 1635 and not 1634)

Good game
