And what machine?
Curiously having spent a not inconsiderable amount of time and 10p's in Seafront arcades when I was... shall we say younger lol, (late eighties early nineties era) I don't actually recall seeing an Outrun Cabinet. First played it on a mates Commodore64 and being impressed later found it in a un played games compilation for my Spectrum 128+2a. I didnt even realise it was an arcade conversion, such was my ignorance. I think it was one of those packs with two tapes of "Ocean hits" or something to do with a company called US Gold. So thats the version I played, in all its green and black glory lol, but the title screen actually had a red car so it had to be good didnt it? Well ive not run it in a speccy emulator but my memory was of a fairly smooth, if not colourful racing game.

Since that ive only played a Mamed version, and that my friends is my entire sad and lonely experience of Outrun before I found the glorious and cheap Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast courtesy of Steam. Loving the remixed tunes too :)

On Outrun2 for the Xbox. I also played on a Outrun2 SP arcade machine, it was awesome.

Back in the arcade parlors years ago. The PC version is true to the original in my opinion.

My first Outrun? 1990, on Sega Master System (using a power base converter since I had a Genesis at the time.)

It was largely overshadowed by my Genesis copy of Super Hang-On. :D
