Here is MY problem

I hope any of you guys can help me out.

I start game and LIVE pops up and asks for hotmail and stuff.
After that it signs in, loading for nearly 2 minutes.
Then the product key, no problem.
Next it will download my profile, but the progress bar does not move.
Finally a pop-up tells me the windows service is unavailable or I have a network problem.

Anyone tried this and solved it??

Have you tried downloading GFWL seperatly at all?
I had the exact same issue with Red Faction untill I downloaded it seperatly and it worked.

You should try posting this in the official B:TD forums over at ignitionusa.net (http://forums.ignitionusa.net/forumdisplay.php?f=23), I think there is a better chance of getting a solution there. Especially since none of the developers are active on the B:TD steam forums.

Is it because I need a silver LIVE account?

No, I've seen people with gold accounts on blacklight so thats not it.
Is your only GFWL title?

This has happened to me multiple times, I have McAfee Internet Security and it blocks the program every time I load it, so I just minimize the game and accept the game to the internet. but not everyone has this so, if you don't have something similar to this then you have to disable your firewall.
