Every game I have wanted always has some kind of DLC or expansion packs that makes me not want to buy. I am wondering if this game will have free updates:cool:

They have already said they will be releasing at least one free major content update, and I cant imagine there wouldn't be smaller updates with some new features. They are a company founded from directly within the gaming community afterall.

These things are always hard to pin down and state with absolute certainty.

However, if gamers turn out to like the game, and funding on its development can continue, we're definitely planning free content updates, for both core gameplay expansion and additional levels.

Which is why we all need to get out there and tell our friends. I've found people get really excited (especially old BF2 players) when told of the concept, it just needs to get out there more. Hopefully the upcoming trailer will help with promotion

Yep, I think it's because the game sounds like it plays like BF2, and perhaps even more so.

Though interestingly, people have mixed feelings about the upcoming BF3 (take a look in the Battlefield forums). Some aren't as excited as others - people seem desperate to just want the next Battlefield to go back to the old BF2 mechanics, with better graphics and various minor fixes and improvements. But after the release of the BC series a lot of them are doubtful about whether BF3 would be any good.

But no, I agree - I think Nuclear Dawn needs some media hype! Make sure IGN gets hold of the trailer :D

Haha, well you are the one who alerted me to Nuclear Dawn via the BF forums where I was complaining about it! Yeah, BF3 ain't looking good, and Interwave definitely seems like a developer I can put my money into now that DICE are headed down the easymode path.

Please dont turn your game into a "purchase new weapons and new gear with real money" kind of game. If a customer buys your product and you update that product the customer should be entitled to all the updates free of cost.

There is no pay for play content in Nuclear Dawn.

And, as have we already told the community in a number of threads, we plan to release more than one expansion that unlocks new content completely free of charge.

Accepting donations for commercial products ends up with a lot of bureaucracy issues, you basically need to be a non-profit organization to legally accept donations, also if you provide "donations for updates" you're essentially purchasing a service. So it's a good idea, and personally I do like it, I just can see some legal issues that COULD arise.

I would like to do that.

You get your chance to do just that - buy the game, or preorder it when you can. That's all the support we need to deliver Nuclear Dawn, and at least two content/gameplay/map updates. Just like that.

Alright as long if we get some few free updates/DLC going.
