I bought the 1st quake expansionpack "Scourge of Armagon". I can't download it because i get the message "Steam server is to busy to handle request".

I do not have the original Quake on Steam because I already bought it back in 1996 when it was released. So I just installed that one. When I was gonna try buying the expansion it said I couldn't because I didn't have the original Quake. (I had, but not on Steam).

So i bought it as a gift and send it to my own e-mail address and then I got it. But now this error.

I tried all the solutions given (reinstalling steam, deleting some clientsomething.blob file, choosing other download locations etc).

Does anyone know what to do? Is it maybe that I don't have the original Quake steam version that it won't download for me? That would be stupid if it was that because I only want the expansion because I already have the original Quake.

I also tried giving the expansion to my brother (I gave both to him as a gift) who also can't download them. He also has the original quake bought in 1996.

Anyone?

/fixed

I bought Quake during sale. When I pressed the buy button, suddenly Quake 1 mission pack also worked. Seemed I was right you can't install (and buy) the mission packs without having the Steam version of Quake.

Ah well, now it all works.
