Have you ever been able to host co-op? The button is grayed out for me :(

You select a friend and when you try to click host game you can't?

Hello Morter,

Are you sure you're in Matchmaking (lobby) mode?

There are two modes: Friends and Matchmaking (lobby).

In Friends mode, of course you'll first need to select a Friend (and set your game options) and then host.

In Matchmaking, you can set your options and click host.

Click the little arrow next to Friends to switch to Matchmaking mode and vice versa (there should be text at the bottom of the screen to explain).

Click the little arrow next to Friends

About that, why don't you make the text clickable too?

The first thing I did, was to click on it, since clicking on the text of the other options, changes them. When I clicked on the text the first time, I was like "Oh, only friends". Then after a few plays i decided to click the arrow :D

Are there many players for matchmaking? It seems as if I only get players when I'm lucky, and players as in 2-3. Is it a problem within my port (27015?) or is this normal?

When I last tried, I was trying to play a game with my wife, who's in the same room as me, and is on my friend's list.

Does she also have to be in the "Multiplayer" section too, or something? No matter where she was, it just said "In-game other", after I selected her, and the option was still grayed out, but I'll keep tinkering with it.

Ah okay I figured it out: Since she was also idling in TF2, it interfered with Nation Red in the sense that Steam couldn't tell she was also in Nation Red, so it wouldn't let me invite her. I understand now.
