Hey guys/gals. I recently purchased a ssd that would hold all my programs and be my boot drive. I'd like to have steam on the ssd with all my other programs, but install the games on my other hd. Is this possible? Note that I want steam on one drive and the installation of games on another, not to be confused with moving my steam installation to another drive altogether. Thanks.

Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to choose the installation location for individual games. There are, however, a couple of options. You can either move your entire Steam installation, or use the junction workaround (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1138731). If you choose to use junctions, this tool (http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html) may help you.

Best bet would be to just put it all on the other drive. Steam without games really doesn't take up too much room, and you probably won't see any performance increase by just leaving Steam without games in the SSD.

Thanks for the quick responses. I think for now I'll just install steam on my hd and not on the ssd. The workaround looks a little complicated for a noob like me lol
