I like to modify the Total War files, will this get me banned?

In Rome Total War (non Steam version) I modified the descr_buildings txt file so that I could recruit first cohorts anywhere and so republican legions wouldnt disappear after the marius reforms.

If I tamper with the files with the steam version of ME2 will I get vac banned? :confused:

I think VAC banning is only for online play on valve games, since there are a number of mods that you can use even in more modern games such as Empire that don't result in a ban.
