At the On-Mirror's-Edge forums we have created a petition. You can sign it, and when we reach a respectable amount of names, we'll send this to EA/DICE to show them that we care about the franchise.

If you do too, then go to the link below, type a nickname and your country and submit your name. Do it just once; we delete names that were created by the same user twice or more.

Enhance our effort by signing. Do it for Mirror's Edge.

They have hinted that they are making a sequel, they just haven't announced it yet.
Unless you have information that states otherwise.
Look on wikipedia and focus in on where it says sequels.

I think they are already working on Mirror's Edge 2. I think I remember somewhere reading EA has people working on it, just it is a small dev team, so the progress is kind of slow. Try googling.

We want to ping them even more and show them that the community cares about Mirror's Edge. So please sign; it will be sent when we reach 1.000 names.

i hope they are working on mirror's edge 2.

Seeing that Mirror's Edge 2 isn't included in 6 new projects EA/DICE announced, and they are hyped a lot with Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honor, that's highly unlikely.

It's 50/50 either way. It was a listed project, however it was removed after excessive "inquiries" by fans. DICE technically hasn't denied or confirmed it but there have been lots of mixed messages within and above them concerning it (EA's CEO is very supportive of it iirc).

This is really the most recent thing mentioned, and all other reports are in the late '09 to early '10 timeframe. "No information at this time" is pretty much all I can find and ever have found. Would I love to see it? Sure. But this is the type of project that's best left to stew, rather than to pry upon.

if they do make a mirrors edge 2 i hope it has a better plot, better voice acting and better cut scenes. I thought the game play and concept was great, i enjoyed trying to figure out routs on top of buildings and such. I just didn't get that into it because the story was so bland and uninteresting.

The plot/story was fine, voice acting can always be better in any game, and I loved the cartoon cutscenes.:p:cool:

I just recently picked up the original and played it all the way through including doing some of the races too and I have to say that I'm pleased with my money spent. Very original gameplay with the FPS platformer type of action. The game was smooth, it really allowed you to freely move around and do some great acrobatics. I never got disoriented at all and thought that the entire artstyle for that game was a breath of fresh air too. The cartoon essence of the entire game really carries it higher as it tries even harder to stand out from a very crowded FPS genre.

Signed, for what it's worth. Would absolutely love a Mirror's Edge 2. I think that a second go-around that could build upon the lessons learned from the original could easily be a marquee title in the history of video games.

110% agree. ME1 was a great game, but seriously has one of the worse stories in any FPS game I played, including games with almost no story.

I think they are working on it.

The fact that we haven't heard much since the hint is because they are taking their time and don't want to rush the game. Something very unusual from EA and something we should be very happy about.

Update: 3 months later we have reached more than 1.500 names and we're really happy with this. We're hoping to get 2k names to send it to EA/DICE. This is a bump for people who haven't even heard about this petition. Just post a nickname and your country just once (twice or more counts as spam). It's that easy.

EA/DICE have confirmed Mirror's Edge coming to the Mac which shows they're still interested in it. Help us boost them by signing our petition. I'll post the link once more: http://www.mirrorsedge2.cba.pl/

from what I've read they have a semi-completed sequel, but it was shelved because of lack of interest, even though they want to make it but they fear it wont make enough money to pay for itself they are making the correct corporate decision, whatever you may think they aren't a charity
( unfortunately )

that said, if you want them to make it, go make you-tube videos of the best me1 parts, tell friends to buy mirror's edge, if they see renewed interest they 'may' change their minds unfortunately we live in the real world, and it SUCKS! believe me, I've been trying to get Microsoft to make MechWarrior 5 for so long I lost my sanity.

but several years on,
smith and tinker are actually working on it!!!
why? because a massive underground community practically re-wrote the game, set up private servers for on-line matches, flaunted massive Mech-add-ons all over the net and riled everyone that had the original to play it again with masses of new free content to increase it's popularity to the point where it would be profitable again
you need that level of dedication for this kind of thing.. it wont come easy, and ea wont listen to 1000 people, maby 10,000 though, so keep it up!

Consider my vote in favour of mirror's edge by the way, props to people that care about pc gaming, it seriously needs a reboot.

That Petition has over 4500 signers! That's an instant $2,770.20 for DICE!

Come on, Dice! We all want BF3 to be the best game ever, but we want Mirrors Edge 2, too!

So they're going to sell Mirror's Edge 2 for about 50 cents? 4,500 signatures and $2,700? $2,700 is only 55 people buying the game at $50. If all 4,500 people who signed bought the game, that is $225,000.

I thought I messed up there....

Pen and Paper method has failed meh.

They should still make ME2.

Here is whats going to happen regards Mirrors Edge 2

Battlefield 3 is going to be a showcase platform for it, whilst BF3 will be well recieved. the audience it captures will be high and the frostbite 2 engine will showcased.

i believe after the dust settles a year later from BF3 we will see ME2 as the audience that purchased BF3 will know about frostbite 2 game engine and ME2 will be marketed around that.

so expect a 2013 release date.
it makes business sense.
