I'm in chapter one, got hauled off to the monastery and made to join the order. No big deal. However, I'm experiencing claustrophobia in this game, it really feels like it's on rails because of the "chapters" arrangement. I want a big world to explore but this game doesn't feel like that to me. Does it open up or am I forced to follow a path in each chapter, because I hate that :( I was looking for something more open like Oblivion.

I suggest loading back to where you met that guy at the house and ask him to take you to the resistance camp - it's a lot more open down there.

I'll give that a shot, thanks.

There are certain sections where you are confined to the Monastery or Harbor Town for a while, but they are pretty short. For most of the game you can travel across the entire island as much as you want, although towards the beginning the wilderness is very unforgiving with many things that will send you running scared back to safety. But that just makes it more satisfying when you become stronger later on, because it gives you a great sense of "adventuring" as you travel further into the wild and discover new areas.

I hate linear games like this with one path.

So don't play it / them ?
