not able to buy the 4pack if already own?

Well even if you bought the pack for yourself, that would be 3 copies for $6 = 3 copies for $2 each. You might as well get them as seperate gifts.

AFAIK 4 packs have to be bought for yourself, I think either the Steam Store just lacks the functionality of gifting a 4 pack to someone else, or it includes one copy and three gift copies. It does sound a little weird to me, gifting gift copies to someone else for them to gift them away.

I think it's to prevent people 'stocking up' on games while they're cheap and possibly selling them on later, after the sale.

I guess I'll just buy the 3 copies that $6 will buy, and give those away instead.

I was going to buy the 4 pack for friends but Steam and Beatnik won't be getting my money now it seems since buy as gift is greyed out.

Which is particularly stupid since it even said in the email they sent out to gift it if you're the generous type.

Yes, apparently you failed to click the giant button that pops up to show you your extra gift copies after you bought the back. Go to the Games menu in the Steam client and manage your gifts from there.

Click on the games tab and click on Manage Gifts and Guest Passes... Scroll down to Extra Copies section and send at whim.

You can't buy a 4-pack if you already own the game. I tried when borderlands went on midweek madness a while back and ended up having to buy 3 individual copies for my friends because of that stupid crap.

It's really fscking dumb, but that's how steam does it. You're not buying "four copies" you're buying 1 copy and 3 extras, not 4 extras. :\

They wouldn't even remove the game from my library so I could buy it.

You can already do that: send a game gift to your own email, gift it later.

I personally bought 4 copies at $2 each for gifts. Would have been nice to save the $2, but whatever.

if u culd gift all 4 copies ppl wuld abuse the system to earn money. If ya have to buy one for urself and don't use it, ya might aswell buy 3 copies seperate.

Why not just set up another account and buy the 4 pack with that? That way you now have 5 copies
