When I came to check out the forums, one of the stickies had:
"Nuclear Dawn IW Forums"
and I almost turned away in disgust. IW, two letters that will forever leave a bad taste in my mouth in anything remotely multiplayer.
I then happened to glance back at the store page and saw that IW (this one) wasn't the IW of nightmares (infinity ward) and then I was able to breathe a sigh of relief, and add it safely to my wishlist.
It is unfortunate that this company must share its initials with that of infinity ward. And to anyone wondering (all two of you) why it is infinity ward is so horrible, I have only one thing to say to you.
Modern Warfare 2.

This is why prejudice in the USA will never go away. Look at each game individually. Problem solved.

I would hardly compare this to prejudice in the USA...
In fact, making that statement is quite an insult to all those who have been persecuted for their differences.

Agreed, the initials are definitely a sad coincidence. Luckily the developers at Interwave seem to have the passion for their game and the love of the community that Infinity Ward before COD was a cash cow.

It is really sad when a great game series (I loved COD) goes to crap because a developer decides to switch markets. I still enjoy the COD single player experience of MW2, don't get me wrong, great game in itself, but I got it mainly for MP.
Considering the recent push in the console market and everything seeming to be a port (instead of being remade for the PC market), it is good to see those that still recognize us as a viable platform and will not just see us as some secondary money base.
It is for that reason that I will be checking out this game when it is released and if it is anywhere near as awesome as the vid I have seen thus far, I will be buying it.

It's a shame that the PC market is so often neglected when it's clearly the best way to promote solid sales over time and good sequel sales: give the community mod tools and not only do you get a solid community that keeps coming back, you also get plenty of ideas for the sequel. Nearly every new feature in MW2 came from CoD4 mods, and whether you liked it or not it was a resounding success in terms of sales. Promoting community and longevity may not be the best way to please the investors (ala Activision), but for games like ND, it's an absolute must that they clearly have acknowledged, and I can't wait to see how Interwave (with their roots embedded in the PC community) handle the task.
That being said, you do still get a few console focused games with great PC support - Just Cause 2 as a prime example. A few little touches can take a crappy port and make it a fantastic multi-platform success.

Damn you nearly gave me a heart attack OP, I very much agree that IW are unfortunate initials for a developer house :)

Just Cause 2 is a horrible game. The flying is OK but the rest is pure cheese.
