Please excuse the difficulties, there will be a hotfix very soon.

xp sp3 nvidia 9800 gt 1 gig ram, 2 gig main ram, heap loads of diskspace.

ok seems to be its the vc < install after the directx which seems to be trying to run the game for first or second time, and game crashes with crash dialog box. closed it down before i saw it but thought unless this game gets update no install massivly disapointed :(.

Please know that the hotfix is on it's way. I wasn't able to reproduce the problem on systems available to me but I reverted some changes that might be responsible. Please let me know if it worked.

Same problem. Since update the game crashes on start. @DG_Simon - thanks to your fast answers. I hope you solve the prob as fast as possible.
I played Swarm Arena many hours before the patch and i love this game.

The hotfix is available now. I am not 100% sure that it will work, but it was worth going for it to resolve this as fast as possible. Please ensure your version is updated by restarting the steam client and let me know if it works. Thank you.

Still no go. Same behaviour.

Ok, thanks. At least that rules out a lot of things. Sorry for the delay - I assure you solving this issue is my number one priority.

Thanks, i think i'm on the right track. You must have great internet connections, have you?

You can try setting up a download before starting the game, this might actually work.

08-26-2010, 02:51 PM
i have a decent connection i wount say fantasic

but on steam or just an ordanary download ? sorry not sure which side of download you mean cause you can download though steam if you know how to do it while playing games, steam palses downloads but you can resume them
after you have started a game

I don't know what's wrong :(
It worked fine before the first update, now it doesn't work even after a second update. I found that it works well on Windows 7 x64 though, but not on XP anymore. It displays a error about address 0x00408e25.

@lemon-rev I'd say a "real" one, anything that slows down your connection could do the trick eventually.

Currently working on it.

EDIT: I have at least one report that XP works fine

dg_simon sorry to tell you that an ordenary download makes little difference just makes the game start a little late but still crahes on startup, hm, i have my connection being used pritty much right on full so no good on that thery

XP 32 or 64?
The behavior for my crash is that a large (screen sized) blank window open up, then it crash message shows up.
If it helps, this is the error signature.

AppName: swarm.exe AppVer: ModName: swarm.exe
ModVer: Offset: 00008f75

The working record is from XP 32 SP3. Can one of you please write me an email (simon@dedicationgames.com), I would like you to help me test a solution.

EDIT: I got it now and everything is set in motion for the update. Please accept my apologies for this whole issue.

A lot of "Bigger" devs should take example of your behaviour. Deep thanks for your really activ' game support, and btw : Congratz for a such quality game ;)
