I was recommended the pack from the Combine Wiki, but I'm just double checking that it doesn't change any DLLs or anything.

This thing is totally ok. Valve do support custom content and this pack only has custom content, no custom DLLs.

I never noticed any bugs with it but I am easy to please.Some guns are not exactly in the player hands when viewed from outside, it's totally obvious with the "ghostbuster gun", some are more subtile.

I went to the link provided in the original post and downloaded it, now how do I apply the texture pack? Am I going to have to dig into the HL content folders?

Extract it to the right folder. I don't remember the exact folder structure in this pack, but I know the HL folder structure by heart. So just open whatever archive you downloaded and tell what folders are there in the root.

I haven't had one problem with the HD Pack. I installed it around X-Mas time when I bought the HL Anthology. I've been very impressed with it actually.

I've been very impressed with it actually.Well, most screwed up models are p_weapon models, meaning you won't see them unless playing multiplayer and I used to play Svencoop abiglot. The other less obvious bug is the scientist in Labda core, the one which will teleport you to Xen. The shotgun he's pointing at you when you go to the door is off.

Oh I see. Sorry. I haven't played the MP with it. I would recommend it for single player though.
