people are not talking!

I've played the game many times in the past, but recently, for NO reason at all the game stopped playing NPC conversation sounds. I see them moving, but they are not saying anything and I cannot start any missions. I walk into the briefing room and they just stare at me...

I thought it was a bug so I started over and it even does it on the taxi cab ride. He just points at the plane leaving and drives, I hear the vehicle and sounds, but no voices. Its so weird?!

any ideas why? :confused:

nvm, I fixed it by using the 'verify integrity of game cache'
