quake two run around..and around

I get through the first level fine but then they send you to the second place like a warehouse or some such. It is one of those situations that bug me because I have killed all the bad guys but can't progress. I am missing some thing like shooting a symbol or a switch somewhere. I can get to the first upper ramp that has a door that opens elsewhere and the ladder that opens somewhere, any help would be cool.
