I'm on a island called Imbros or something like that and meet a witch in a cave. She turns me into a spider and I have to find my way back to her location. In route Im attacked by some enemies but could not seem to fight back as the spider.

Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. This lesson should teach you that killing innocent spiders is a bad thing.
