View Full Version : Refusing sales/purchases?

Is there some way to refuse to sell an item to a person or more importantly, to buy one? For example, if an Old Man wants to purchase a piece of equipment you'd rather sell to an adventurer, can you outright turn him down without having to jack up the price to something like 300%?
In the same vein (this one happened to me), if the due date for your next debt payment is upcoming and an Old Man comes asking you to buy a expensive treasure item, is there any way to turn that down without having to offer to buy it for 1 pix?

Yes you can do this. If you offer them a price a few times in a row they dont like they just leave - likewise if they ask you for a weapon or something to buy and you suggest a different item all together they will leave too

It's usually quicker just to tell that you don't have an item like that in stock.

What you should do is keep the item you want to sell to the adventurer away from the shelfs, and when the adventurer asks for example "I want a weapon" then you chose that weapon you want to give him. That way you make sure no one will buy it.
I remember some guy wanted the sword but I didnt really want to sell it because I would like it for the adventurer, so I put the price up to like 200% and it sold... a good sell but ^^'

Meh, you're an item shop owner. If someone's gonna pay that much for it, take the cash and buy/find another one. :D
Higher merchant levels will provide more of the weapons you have now in the merchant's guild/market. Unless the equipment was fused to a stat way out of your current merch level, it's best to never deny a sale. This breaks your "just" combo.

Yeah, I've found that if you don't want something to sell, don't even put it out. Wait until an adventurer comes in and asks for a weapon or whatnot. Every time I've put a sword or armor that I've wanted Louie to buy on the shelf, an old man comes in and snatches it up before he can (Albeit paying well). Then Louie ends up wasting all his money on candy again...
