I play by myself and I hate when the map ends early. I'd love to just keep playing and playing on the same map until I died.

We have played around with the idea, how would you increase the difficulty? Just constantly upping the confed health values seems kind of dull.

Random shellings of the base that causes the team to rebuild their emplacements?

Teammates are only revived at the end of a round?

Introduce different enemy types as the rounds progress? (IEDers after ten rounds, crab walkers after twenty)

Maybe something where there are five Strongholds on one map, with only one of them being necessary to protect. After five rounds, the stronghold necessary to protect changes to one of the other ones on the map, which requires the player to move to protect that stronghold?

Boss types like the AI bots that are usually on your side when you play alone recoloured as the Confederates and sent to kill you and your team? Possibly an aerial unit of some type?

Randomize the placements of the gold every round?

Not bad, thanks for the ideas. Gold/jewelry placement is already random, and delaying the player respawn doesn't fit the game in my opinion. The rest of your suggestions sound good, we may totally steal one or two :)

The gold isn't really random.

When the map loads it select's a random location but you can keep going to that location to pick up more gold.

I usually find where they spawn and then run around a circuit knowing that the gold respawns like every 60 seconds.


Why not make it so there is a bunch of turrets etc in optimal positions at the begining of the round. And these buildings have a set ammount of ammo. With each wave of enemies the ammo that gets resupplied becomes less and less.

This way the first few waves are a breeze and then you have to help the turrets out and eventually the turrents are unable to shoot and so you have to fight on your own.

In this mode you are not able to build your own turrets, just traps and ammo supplies.

I think the ideas are awesome, but it's always a question of development time. If we end up doing such a mode, we will definitely post it here. I really like them, but we have to fix some bugs and add more Steamworks features first :)

That is awesome I would love that int he game...

also a deathmatch would be cool.... steam store says coop and multiplayer.. me and my friends tried forever to figure out the multiplayer portion. But there is just coop.

just give us a few maps with just death match no AI horde and that would be killer!!!

Actually was talkin to friends last night and as for the DM game mode...

Just how killer would it be if there was a mode where you had to destroy the opponents stronghold... 2 teams work on offense and defense.. that would be soo epic.

I really hope games like this get made more and more its beyond awesome!!!

Map Editor would be really great.
And an endless Mode with Highscore of Time would be a good Motivation to play on and on and beat the time, while the enemy Horde gets bigger and bigger with the time.
Actually with the time your defense grows, your Equip gets better, but the enemy is as weak as at the start. For me the start is realy hard, then it goes easyer, and when ur def is up for a real hard rush of enemys, the Map is over.

Id go for increase the amount of enemies for a survivor mode, as time goes on.

Also like to be able to reload the HMG without the need of it being deployed. :/

I pondered an idea for a "tug of War" game mode. If youve ever played marine tug of war in starcraft you may understand the concept of how it would work in irongrip warlord.

What about increasing the amount of dudes + armor in each wave, plus a slight health increase for them over time for an endless mode? You could have some rocking features with leader boards and what not.

WoW, i bought this 5pack on black friday and i play irongrip more, then team fortress 2 atm! Hope in future will be part 2 w/ better graphics!
Would be cool, if we can creat bunkurs, when u can shoot from inside, and youll will not get any damage till bunkur is destroyed.

And would be cool, if there would be map, where your stronghold is on the hill and all enemy goes up and you can shoot them from hills. :)

some kind of vs mode were you send waves at eachother would be really nice and also some way of building troops on your own would be nice.

And the ammo only refills when you repair it 100%
