HoI2 vs Arsenal of Democracy

So, these games are somewhat the same, though I've heard from a friend that AoD is a bit better, but the games are roughly the same. So what are the cons and pros of each of the respective game?

I have absolutely no experience with either game, but multiplayer is the most important aspect for me (mostly LAN).

So, which one to choose?

I have both and I would go with AoD as its more polished and a lot of changes internally..

I can't really specify fairly as I have noit had the time to get fully aquanited with both titles fully but AoD to be is the better of the two.

AOD is HOI2+. There is no reason to choose HOI2 over AOD.
